Simple Life

Hey there. Are you all ready for the upcoming holidays? I can't believe 11 days until Christmas. When did it creep up on me? Still have some shopping to do- wish me luck :D
For the month of November, I worked with My Little Shoebox's Simple Life paper line. I covered this wooden mirror frame with the papers and used the large icons pieces to create a "farm landscape" along the bottom.

I made this sun by cutting out a circle from the yellow B side of one of the papers and cutting thin strips of paper. My favorite thing to do is use a Sakura glaze pen to outline and doodle on my projects. The glaze pen leaves this great raised dimensional look.

This is the card that I made-I used some of the cardstock stickers from My Little Shoebox. Love these stickers - The quality is outstanding!

Thanks for checking and have a great weekend.

Holiday Gift Ideas

Hi there. We're almost at the end of My Little Shoebox's Holly Jolly Holiday event. Can you believe all of the beautiful and ultra crafty projects the MLS team has created? Wow, I'm impressed!
Today we are feauturing holiday gift ideas. I created this paper flower candle wreath. I love having scented candles burning, and it's even nicer when the candle is all "dressed up".
I used some heavy guage floral wire to form a circle, covered the wire with floral tape. Atached the white sparkle berry sprigs, and created some paper flowers and leaves from the new Holly Jolly paper line by My Little Shoebox.

Here are some close ups of the flowers.

And of course, nothing is complete without some glitter. I just swiped a bit of tacky glue along the edges of the flower with my finger and dipped the flower into some clear coarse glitter by Martha Stewart.

Please make sure to visit the

MLS

blog and leave a comment. Remember that we will be giving out a prize in just a few days.

Thanks for checking!

Thankful Blog Hop

Hi there. Thanks for visiting me from Rocio's blog - isn't she fabulous! Hope November is treating you well (can you believe just 1 month and 6 days until Christmas- Yikes!) With only a week until Thanksgiving, My Little Shoebox is having a "Thankful Blog Hop". Please start at the
blog
and leave a message on each of the design members blog.
You know what that means right- a fabulous My Little Shoebox prize. And who doesn't like that?
We are all taking the time to just sit and reflect about what we are thankful for. This is the card that I made using the Simple Life line from MLS.

I made a thank you card, because there are so many people and things that I am so thankful for in life. First I have to thank God for each and every day of this amazing life that He has blessed me with. I have the honor of calling Rod my sweet and dear husband for the last 19 years (oh my gosh, has it been that long already?) He supports me in everything that I do, even my "need to collect" scrap stuff and other crafts as well- hee hee. I am blessed with two amazing children that make me proud each and every day- I can't imagine life with out them! I am thankful for my stress reliever - my sweet little Pumpkin. I am grateful for my parents, sister Pam and her hubby Jose- family is so important. Having grown up with all of my family in Europe, I appreciate who I have here in the states. I am so thankful to be blessed with amazing women that I have the honor to call friend. You know who you are - you understand my quirks and still love me-now that's a friend!!

There is so much more to be grateful for, but this is a blog post and not a novel- hahaha! Please leave me a comment- I'll be choosing a random winner to get some Mini Alphabet Stickers- now that's something to be thankful for :D

Please visit our next designer:

the ever fabulous:

Melanie

She will inspire you with her super creative self!!

Check back Monday for the winner! Thanks for visiting.

Ho Ho Ho

Can you believe that in 3 months from today, Christmas will be done and over with? I can't, but what a great way to kick off getting ready for the holiday season than making some cards. My Little Shoebox is releasing their first Christmas line and it's called Holly Jolly! How cute! I made this cute little card with our new paper. I took paper strips and accordian folded them. Then I adhered them to the card base at a slight curve, with them slightly over-lapping.

This little card just screams snow and winter to me. Wish we had snow here, but I'll just have to make do with snowman and snowflake paper :) I used the super cute cardstock stickers along with the die cuts.

I "heart" Fiskars

Fiskars is a wonderful company that has been around for a very long time. I remember my mom having the standard orange handled Fiskars scissors, and I'm proud to own many pairs of those scissors myself. But I am also fortunate enough to lve in a day and age where Fiskars has branched out into the crafting world as well and I have to say, their border punches are phenomenal! MLS did a product swap with Fiskars and I was blessed with some awesome punches. I used the postage stamp border punch to frame this photo of ms. EY and myself. These punches are so easy to work with!

I used the Harmony line to make this layout. I love the new square scalloped paper. So easy to work with. Did you notice the new glitter alphabets as well? They are so cute! I love the lower case font!
Thanks for checking.

Cards, cards cards

I love cards! I love sending them, receiving them and most of all, making them. The new My Little Shoebox line called Harmony, makes the most beautiful cards. The colors are vibrant and fun and just scream "cards" to me. I made this cute little Happy Birthday card with the new papers and the new cardstock stickers. Have you guys tried these out yet? Oh my gosh, they are so addictive. They are heavy duty cardstock weight and stick just perfectly!! Oh, and did you see the bottom edge of this card. That's one of the new border punches from Fiskars. We had a super awesome swap with Fiskars! Their punches are fabulous and punch like butter (is that a real phrase? hahaha ). This is the postage stamp border punch. I love it!!

I had so much fun making this second card. I love banners and thought that a string of paper lanterns would have that cute banner look. I used a super awesome white glaze pen from Sakura to add some dimensional dots on the flower, and a black glaze pen to add some stitch lines around the card. Gotta love Sakura!!

Thanks for checking!

All about Family

Hi there. It's been a while since I've posted. Just catching up since returning from CHA. Oh my gosh- the show was awesome! The My Little Shoebox booth was hopping and we had a great show. While we were there, Erin and I taught this super cute mini book featuring one of MLS's new lines: Green. This book is packed with tons of goodies! And now, Erin and I will team up at Scrapbook Island in San Jose , CA to teach it on Saturday, August 21st from 10:30-1:30. Check out their website: www.scrapbookisland.typepad.com . You can call up the nice folks at Scrapbook Island and sign up there. Here's the cover of the book. It's a Maya Road album that is filled with lots of places for photos and journaling.

Thanks for looking and hope to see you on Saturday, August 21st :D

Cute as a Button

This is the last of the six new lines from My little Shoebox. The changes to the lines are so exciting! An extra 12x12 paper (4 now instead of 3), square scalloped paper vs. a circle scalloped paper, new glaze alphabets (new font, lowercase, and more of each letter- woo-hoo!!), cardstock stickers versus the overlays, and stamps! Wow, that's a lot of change, but it's all for the better!!

I made this layout from the Cute as a Button line. This beautiful young lady is the daughter of a very dear friend of mine, and I was blessed to have the priveledge of scrapping this photo. This paper line is perfect for little girls, birthday parties, girls night out or you can even flip them over and use them for masculine pages.

I made this flower from one of the basksides of the Cute as a Button line. I love when I can use my paper to make embellishments- more bang for my buck :D

Thanks for checking and make sure to check the MLS blog for more goodness from our awesome new team: www.mylittleshoebox.typepad.com

Green

This Friday we are debuting sneak peeks of the Green line. This line is just so much fun to work with. The colors are vibrant, and I can't enough of the woodgrain paper and the teal papers are to die for.

I made this layout, You Are my Sunshine, with the new papers and stamps. I had so much fun stamping the trees to create an even larger tree.

I stamped the image and used a Sakura Glaze pen over the centers to give a raised, epoxy look. The Sakura pens have such an awesome flow. The bling in the flower centers are from Creative Impressions. This bling packs a punch- so sparkly.

Check back tomorrow for a sneak peek of the Cute as a Button line. And don't forget to check out My Little Shoebox's website for all of the goodness: www.mylittleshoebox.typepad.com

Hope you enjoy them as much as we do :D Thanks for checking.

Imaginary Friends

So sad to see the end of this MLS release, but I am glad that I get to end this release with Imaginary Friends. I absolutely love the colors of this line! I made a cute little set of projects that are perfect for summer time. I made a notebook, book mark and a mini chalkboard.
This is the notebook that I covered with the Imaginary Friends paper. I love how the papers blend together so well. And the large images are so cute!

This is the little bookmark that I made with the papers. I made the flower from one of the die cuts and the leaves from the backside of one of the papers.

This is my mini chalkboard that I made. I used buttons tied onto embroidery floss to create these floppy wiggle legs for the monster in the corner. I just love how cute he looks!

Thanks for looking. Oh, and check out the MLS blog (www.mylittleshoebox.typepad.com) . We are sneak peeking our new lines for CHA!!

Where is summer?

I know that it's technically still spring, but it has been years since we've had such strange, chilly weather this late into the year. This week has been a super busy, exciting week filled with lots of fun calls, exciting classes, and other goodies. So since I can't share most of the other things that I've been up to, I can share this layout that I made with the Imaginary Friends line from My Little Shoebox. I absolutely love the colors of this line- pale blue, pink and cream. So stinking cute!

Thanks for stopping by. If your kids are already enjoying summer break- woo- hoo!! Have fun. One more week until mine are off! So excited!

Punky Sprouts

Hi there. Happy Memorial Day weekend! Hope you are all having a great 3 day weekend. This month, the MLS design team was able to work with Punky Sprouts and Tattered Angels. I have to say, these 3 companies combined make for a beautiful mini book!! I used the Lil' Critter line to make this cute little book.

I also made this really cute little card from the Lil' Critter line. This line is so cute! The colors are fun and festive and perfect for the summer months.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

I "heart"Tattered Angels

This month, My Little Shoebox has partnered up with Tattered Angels- so stinking exciting!! All of the girls were so thrilled with their goodies and have been hard at work. Here I used one of the screens from Tattered Angels and Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. Okay, I have a confession to make- I adore Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and own far too many (like, counting on 2 hands too many), but I can't get enough of this spray!! Check out Tattered Angels- they have loads of goodness going on over there: www.mytatteredangels.com and you have to check out their blog : www.mytatteredangels.com/blog . Their designers are uber creative and have made some gorgeous projects and layouts!

So when I came home from having lunch with someone that I love oh so very much today, there was a beautiful brown box filled with this yummy goodness. Yes, it is chalkboard Glimmer Mist. All twelve colors were gently nestled amongst the crumpled kraft colored paper packing- oh, what a delight!

And when I say that I love Glimmer Mist- I am so not kidding! I have lots and lots of bottles tucked away in my scrap space. And I love each and every one of them.

Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend :D

Sunday, April 25, 2010

These are the cards that I made this month for My Little Shoebox. I used the Flying High line. It is so stinkin' cute. It has houses and birds and clouds. I used my Sakura Glaze pens to outline and highlight certain areas on the card. You can see on the roof that I outlined the "shingles".

I used one of the clouds from the transparent overlay sheet and covered it in glitter. Then I used a foam square to pop it and give the cloud some dimension.

Here is my second card. I love this green dotted backside of this paper. I cut out the bird from the large icon paper.

I used the clear glaze pen by Sakura on the wings and the flower center. It gives some fun dimension to the card.

I used the new adhesive by Love My Tapes to make these cards. This adhesive rocks.
Thanks for checking out my blog. Have a great week :D
