Punky Sprouts and My Little Shoebox

Hi everyone!  Here at Punky Sprouts, we had the pleasure of partnering up with My Little Shoebox for some Holiday fun!  I played with the super cute TuTu Punk mini album and the Vintage Shop collection from MLS.  I think I've told you how much I like to use product in a different way, right.  So I figured, Punky Sprouts mini album+ owls/pink paper = Christmas mini album, right?
Here is my take on it:

I used the Lil' Parchment Blossoms to create this fun tree!  Just fold each circle in half, then half again and stack the wedges together to form a tree.
I thought this way a fun way to create a wintery snowman.  The ever fabulous Lil' Blossoms in Parchment!
Supplies used:
Punky Sprouts: Tutu Punk mini album, Lil' Lacey Blossoms, Lil' Twiney, Lil' Parchment Blossoms

My Little Shoebox Vintage Shop: Rose Ribbon, French Lace, Heirloom, Attic Treasures, 3D Roll Up Flowers & Accents, Muse Cardstock Alphabet Stickers in Newsprint, Mini Alphabet Stickers in Cream, Kiss & Apple

Now that Christmas is all done and over, I have my album all ready for photos and precious memories!
Have a safe and Happy New Year!!

Ruby Rock-It Countdown to Christmas

Hi everyone.  Hope you are all doing well.  Well, the holidays are just around the corner and what better way to prep than to create projects and gifts for the holidays.  Christmas is just 10 days away!  Can you believe it?
I'm super excited to share my first projects for Ruby Rock-It Bella! Fundamentals.  One of my family's traditions is celebrating Saint Nicolas on December 6th.  My parents brought this tradition with them when they moved to the U.S. many years ago and I love that I am able to share it with my children as well.  So, I made these paper cones to fill with candy, nuts and mandarin oranges- yum!
I made this using the beautiful Eklectique range.  Such pretty paper!!
Here's a close up of the tag I created.  When I opened the package of Bella Bling, I fell in love with the chipboard packaging that was in the package.  I am a nut for text, vintage sheet  music and books, so I just had to use it for the base of this tag!
This is the front of the cone.  I love vintage photos and images and was in heaven when I looked at this paper range.  Vintage photos right there for me to use as I wish- awesome!
Products used: Eklectique range
Here is the cone that I made for my son.  I love  that I was able to create not just feminine, girly projects with this range, but I was able to create a very masculine project as well.
I used the 3D Decoupage to decorate the front of this cone.  Oh my gosh, what a great product!  It makes it look as if I spent hours fussy cutting, when all I had to do was pop the images from the sheet and use some foam squares- genius!!

Here's a close-up of the tag.

Product used: Eklectique range

Please stop by the Ruby Rock-It blog for more inspiration every day through Christmas!  We are giving away prizes and I would love for one of you to win it!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hi everyone.  Hope you are all having a beautiful with your friends and family as we celebrate the most American of traditions- Thanksgiving!  There is so much to be thankful for and I know that we all feel the same about our loved ones, so I'll spare you my list of things to be thankful for.  But I do have a Thanksgiving card to share with you all.  I used the Oh Deer! collection from My Little Shoebox to create this card.
I always like to find different ways to use the 3D Roll up Flowers and Accents dies, so I used a roll up flowers to create the turkey's feathers- super quick and easy!  Check out the My Little Shoebox blog for more cards and inspiration.

One of my holiday traditions is creating place cards for my family every year.  This is what I created this year- Pumpkins!  They are just a series of medallions stacked upon each other with a cinnamon stick as a stem.  Pretty cool and they smell wonderful.
 Here's a close-up

Happy Thanksgiving once again and be safe if you plan to shop the Black Friday sales- people can get crazy for a discount, lol!

Getting in the holiday spirit with Punky Sprouts

Hi everyone!  Hope you are all doing well and getting ready for for the upcoming holidays.  We are baking and eating all things pumpkin of late- YUM!
Here are the other two ornament/ tags that I created for Punky Sprouts.  These two are very traditional in color (no pink- what was I thinking!) and great for your tree, gift tags or just a sweet gift (they make great wall hangings as well!).

Here is my first one with Jolly old St. Nick.

Here is a close- up of the ornament.

Supplies used: Rebel Sprout, Lil' Canvas Petals, Lil' Twiney, Lil' Seeds, Lindy's Stamp Gang mist ( get it here)
Other Supplies: Stamp: Stamper's Anonymous, Ink and markers: Ranger, Cardstock: Bazzill, Ribbon: May Arts and Hug Snug, ribbon and sheet music: vintage, flower: My Little Shoebox, pearl: Darice, sheer: Maya Road, Glitter: Martha Stewart, Adhesive: Therm o Web

This is my next ornament.  I stamped and used an iridescent embossing powder to create a resist on my vintage sheet music.  i really enjoy creating a resist on basic papers or cardstock so that I can go back in and crate my own paper using inks and stains.  So fun!! I also used the Lil' Canvas Petals to build this poinsettia.  i misted each petal and built this poinsettia onto a cardstock circle.  When I was making my flower, I realized that I didn't have any gold pearls and it was late at night.  So what's a girl to do? Well, make them of course!  I used some of my ivory pearls, threaded them onto a piece of wire, rolled the pearl in Versamark, sprinkled some gold embossing powder and heated them up ( the wire was a great holder that prevented my pearls from flying all over the place as I used my heat gun and saved me from burning my fingers). The result- gold pearls.
Here is a close-up.  I needed some leaves and decided to use the Lil' Parchment Blossoms.  I cut them up and inked them.  They take ink wonderfully!
Supplies used: Rebel Sprouts, Lil' Canvas Petals, Lil Parchment Blossoms, Lindy's Stamp Gang Mist and Embossing powder ( get it here)
Other supplies: Trim: Making Memories and vintage, sheet music: Vintage, pearls: Darice, stamp: Inkadinkadoo, Ink: Ranger and Versamark, Viva Pearls in white, Adhesive: Therm O Web and Beacons

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you enjoyed these ornaments and take the time to create your own!

Punky Sprouts Ornaments

Hi everyone!  I can't believe that we are already one week into November.  I'm still stuck in September to be honest with you, lol.  I wanted to share with you some of my ornaments that I created for Punky Sprouts.

This is my favorite tag/ornament!  Vintage + Pink = a very happy Pattie!
I always like to find new ways to use product and I really wanted to use a canvas base for these ornaments that could very easily be used as gift tags as well.  So, I used the canvas sheets from a Punky Sprouts mini album and cute them into an appropriate size.  After stitching and pinking around each canvas piece, I decided to stamp and emboss onto the canvas to create some resist for my Lindy's Stamp Gang mist.
Here is a close-up of my ornament.  Oh, how I love Christmas!!
Supplies used: Punky Sprouts: Rebel Sprout, Lil' Canvas Petals, Lil' Lacey Blossoms (get it here)
Lindy's Stamp Gang Mist
Other Supplies: Paper: Prima, Crate Paper, Stamp: My Mind's Eye, Punches: EK Success, lace and sheet music: Vintage, seambinding: Hug Snug, Stamp: Inkadinkadoo, Pearls: Darice, wire: craft store, Ink: Momento, Versamark, Ranger, Adhesive: Therm o Web

My next ornament is a fun Christmas tree that is quick and easy to make.  You could whip out a bunch of these in a short period of time.
The tree is really easy to create.  I used the Lil' Parchment blossoms.  I used different sizes of the parchment circles, folded them in half and then in half again.  I stamped and heat embossed a pattern onto the tree.  Next I sprayed mist onto the blossoms to color the parchment pieces.  Lastly, I glued the parchment pieces together to form a tree.  Cute and easy, right!
Supplies used: Punky Sprouts: Rebel Sprouts, Lil' Parchment Blossoms, Lil' Parchment blossoms, Lindy's Stamp gang Mist and embossing powder (get it here)
other supplies: border and label punch: EK Success, Paper: Sassafras and Girls Paperie, trim and tinsel: craft store, Ink: Ranger and Versamark, Adhesive: Therm o Web

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my ornaments!  I'll be posting the other two later in the month, so keep an eye out for those as well!

My Little Shoebox and Want 2 Scrap Tutorial

Hi everyone.  I wanted to share a tutorial that I created for My Little Shoebox using the Coming Home line and some Want 2 Scrap products as well.

I made this cute little card and am showing you how to create a piece of box pleated trim.  I love this technique and have been doing it since 2008.  It's always nice when you can incorporate other hobbies (sewing and embroidery) into your scrapping.

Here is the card that I created.
And I'm going to show you the grass at the bottom.  I would usually have the border strip flipped 180 degrees and have the edged bottom facing down, but in this case, it works great "upside down".

Here is the video:

Let me give you the measurements for the pleat.  The first score is at 1/2" , from there on, you will score every 1/4", then 3/4", 1/4", 3/4" until you have scored the entire piece of paper.  Please remember that your paper will shrink in length by about a half.  So if you pleat a 1x12" of paper, it will be about 6" when you are finished.  If you need a longer piece of pleated paper, you can always adhere multiple strips of paper together.

Thanks for stopping by!
